Unsurprising global map of racial tolerance.

The linked article about the response of one Carlton prof is interesting too.
Idk, I was surprised Indians are so racist.

It's "moot" point.  If you insist on misusing tired phrases, do try to do it properly.  And then you can explain to activists trying to remove hydropower dams that it is a moot point.

Anyway, your continued misuse of the word "ethics", and your last word style argument ("Signing off . . ."), indicate that you have found your religion, and that nothing will challenge your devotion.  Like many religious zealots, it appears that the concept of trade offs, and someone pointing out internal contradictions within your belief system, offends your moral and moralistic sensibility.  Pretty standard stuff.

Signing off just meant that it is pointless to argue with you. I will never convince you nor will you change my mind on these issues. What is the point? I do not appreciate being criticized for ethics. I could make exactly the same statement about your own point of view as you appear quite zealous. What will challenge your "devotion"?   You have numerous environmental contradictions within your own arguments, but I feel it quite pointless to argue these points with you.  Do you think that you have the supreme judgment in regards to these questions? There are many different ways of looking at each question/problem and they mostly fall into the gray zone, i.e. they become hard choices. You seemingly think you have the answer to every question and that is your own personal issue. I certainly do not feel I have all the answers.  Do you? I strongly suspect that you will answer yes to the last question.

You have much to learn about the environment and viewing the world from an ecological perspective, Todd.  You seem more entrenched in the economic and legal perspectives of these issues. Besides, your posts focus so much on arguing about semantics rather than the topic at hand. It is pointless to debate with you. You are entrenched in an worldview I cannot relate to.

I should know better than to engage in these types of threads. Reading your arrogant posts Todd makes me want to leave the GMG environment completely.

Very interesting read. Of course, take it for what it's worth, since no one can really predict the future, but good to read some insight about what's going on with oil currently. I'm saving about $30 a month because of it.

Sad and worrying. All year our societies have been commerating the dead and why they died. Although principally a remembrance of WW1, it fed strongly into the annual WW2 commemorations. Many people sacrificed in the hope we would do away with the kind of society where people would be unsafe because of their background or beliefs. It seems that it is not that we forget history, we don't learn from it.

Is it my imagination or are you running this thread Ken? You must be reading a lot of unimportant news in your spare time!  ::)
Lol, true. Stuff like news headlines certainly distract me by piquing my curiousity, though in reality it's probably not good for most people to be consumed in it, if they are. News is mainly the problems and horror of reality. Stop reading news, Ken. Go watch a movie, play a PC game, or listen to some Stockhausen Elgar?...  ;D
