Hello.   ;D
Nice to be here.  Looks like a very active forum, and I look forward to plenty of blethers.

Welcome to you...blethers galore are our speciality here and there are lots of ready made friends for those of the Mahler-persuasion.

My warmest welcome to a fellow Mahler fan.  :)

His symphonies have a full range of emotion from the deepest depression and the highest joy, it is said each of his symphonies are a world into themselves.  What is your favorite performance of his unfinished 10th?

Well Teresa, something of a Mahler purist, so only the adagio does for me in the 10th - not keen on the Cooke rebuilds because Mahler didn't write them himself (although I admit, I have listened to Barshai's take on the sketches and loved what I heard.)  My favourite tenth is Kubelik and the BRSO -oh those string are near crying out the notes of a dying man and a lost love...

And you're Scottish, too? Interesting..... my mom keeps saying she wants to take us all to a trip to Scotland and Ireland, maybe we'd find a few distant ancestral relatives  :o  ;D

Unlikely.  The English may have killed them all a couple of hundred years ago. :P
