Hi
Hello again folks, I noticed a couple of threads asking about former posters and felt I ought to say something; I live in a socially rather barren terrain and the forum is a good option for me, though I've also got projects here which I've already put off for a long while...

I've explored quite a lot of music (including works by exactly 1000 names at the moment) and still enthusiastic about it of course, but unless I'm careful I also end up not only wading through a lot of second rate work but taking up time messing with lists, reading up in books, sorting versions and goodness knows what endless quibbles about the damn stuff.

Hence recently I've borrowed and copied for convenience purposes a few large sets new to me to keep me going for the next few months of repeated listening- without thinking much about anything else. They are

Du Fay- Complete secular music (5 CDs)
Byrd- Complete keyboard music (7 CDs)
Milhaud- Complete string quartets (5 CDs)
Janacek- The Excursions of Mr Broucek (2 CDs)
Martinu- Julietta (2 CDs)
Lehar- The Count of Luxembourg (2 CDs)
Vierne- Organ symphonies 4-5 (2 CDs)
Stockhausen- Sternklang (2 CDs)
Lully- Armide (2 CDs)
Haydn 8 Divertimentos for wind
Wolf- 23 Morika lieder

And
Haydn complete Piano trios (9 CDs), this purchased from Amazon

Also the complete Mozart string quartets Italian quartet set, which I used to own- fantastic and enriching, perhaps perfect music.

Hi Karl, trust you're well- can you advise re the 'notification' buttons- do they only refer to notifications by email? Does the 'replies to your posts' function work all as before, or is there a way of preventing further notifications after the thread's moved on beyond your contribution?- just wondering. Cheers.

Maciek

Welcome back, Sean! :D Looking forward to your posts on the new GMG.

Notify works as before. Clicking it again, once you are already being notified, turns it off (this was the same on the old board).

Sean

Alright there MrOsa- I'm looking forward to some more Szymanski when I can get it!

Are you saying that notifications are email notifications?

Maciek

You've been watching The Wicker Man lately I see? Hopefully the old version... ;)

Yes - "Notify" enables e-mail notifications. But you have to set up the details in your profile for them to work.

Cheers,
Maciek

Before you start trying to emulate Edward Woodward, I must warn you that you'll never fit in there...

Edit - as Maciek already noticed....!
