It's your language. I'm just trying to use it --Victor Borge

It's in a lot of Schosty's music.

Opus106

I wonder why many members on this board have the habit of typing others' names in bold. I always imagine them responding/asking a question normally, and then, when the say the name, their eyes pop up and they have this big smile on their face. ;D

Why do they do it, Dave? (Well, not that scary. ;) )

Well, opus67, it is because that fashion pacesetter, always on the cutting edge Karl Henning started doing it years ago, and since then it just slowly spread, much like Schubert's Disease... :D

I think it's been used here several times, so it's probably safe to say that my first name bears some resemblance to the fellow whose feast day we celebrate by wearing green and getting positively hammered.

It's Odd.

Great name...Abbott and Costello would have a field day  ;D

It's Odd.

What's odd?

I am.

Yes, I know you're odd, but...

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Sergeant to my subordinates, but my friends can call me Sarge.

Greta, George and I would like to keep our first names confidential for reasons of Internet privacy, if you don't mind.

If you also keep your forum names confidential, your privacy will be further enhanced. ;D

Thank God this was posted.  I need to print it so I can see who is who with all these first name terms going on, so I don't have to trawl through this post to see who Bruce, Dave or Mike is talking to when they say something like:  "Yes John, I agree, Mahler did write a good 10th."

Who's "him"?  :D

That's Karl Hedy!  $:)

BTW I think the reason for the bold is so if one is scanning the text, the name pops out.

That Karl is fashionable and practical. He's our Eddie Bauer.  ;D

We really should be asking for "given names" instead of "first names". In many countries, such as most of Asia and many of the Eastern European countries, the last name is the given name, while the first name is the family name.

My given name is "pu", which means uncut jade -- a piece of stone that looks common until you cut it open and see the inside. My English given name is Paul, simply because it is phonetically closer to "pu".

They call me Mister — oh, it's Corey.
