Is there a way to make money playing guitar that isn't a complete gamble? I think this is really the only thing that I can do that can impress/blow away anybody.

Like, joining a band that makes a lot of money?... just a consideration. (I don't exactly want to go that career route, but with money, the whole world can be open to you).

A friend of mine did this Greg: teach.  He opened a school and taught guitar.  Sure fire way to make consistent money.  Performing is always a gamble, it's a highly competitive world.

Teaching is a gamble too, though. I would only do it if I lived in a city- I wouldn't make enough money out here, since most of these people are old rednecks who would want redneck music lessons.

But I can't just start renting an apartment in a city and start giving lessons, since you never know if you are going to be able to get by with rent at first... eventually, yes, but it seems like a gamble and I don't want to run out of all of the money I saved.

DavidW

Uh yeah he lived in LA, I imagine that is a bit different.

First day of PT today: 70 per cent flexion in the knee. Projected walk time: mid-June.

Plus my therapist is awesome!

4th day of strep throat — finally recovering with some antibiotics. Still, can't eat a lot of things.

Playing Pokémon and listening to Elliott Carter. What do you mean "cognitive dissonance"? :D

Ahmadinejad allies charged with sorcery

Several people said to be close to the president and his chief of staff, Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei, have been arrested in recent days and charged with being "magicians" and invoking djinns (spirits).

Ayandeh, an Iranian news website, described one of the arrested men, Abbas Ghaffari, as "a man with special skills in metaphysics and connections with the unknown worlds".

Rain! After months of dryness. The farmers will be happy. But much rain will fall?

Henk

Still raining heavily. Good for the farmers!

I see Memphis TN is under water again.  The one poster from the city, Franco, has resigned from the site, I hope he is high and dry.

DavidW

I can't say that I understand why people choose to live near a river that floods regularly. :-\

Well hope Franco is alright.
