I was in tears the first time I saw an all-hedgehog production of A Night to Remember.

Must have been the Kingsford.   ;)
Men profess to be lovers of music, but for the most part they give no evidence in their opinions and lives that they have heard it.  ~ Henry David Thoreau

Watching a video of an English class in Japan: (though this class is only a 3rd grade class)

This could me some day, possibly... all depending.

Good luck.

A friend of mine went to TEFL in Japan. He said his only success was his class learning the names of the current Stoke City FC team.

Is it bad that I paid $2.00 for a 99 track download of Handel?  0:)

Only if you feel you have to listen to it ; )

Not a huge Handel fan but for two bucks, jeez. And who knows, I might become one.  :P  If you would like to check out similar deals, go to AMAZON.COM, the MP3 area, and search for "essential classical".

I got an Arte Nova recording of Messiah for a song, and (questions of the price aside) it's a good performance.  Surprised very much on the upside.

Yep, good cheap stuff there if you dig. Once bought a "10 disc" box set of Ormandy for $9.99.

I can top that: a 40-disc box of Bach I snaffled for $20.

Of course, this astonishingly discounted Brahms box comes mighty close, too . . . .

While we are here, chatting about topping things, you can still go there and download a 6-disc set of many well-received and (what some consider to be) so-so performances of symphonies from the late 19th Century, for free.

But -- how much ever one might try digging from the other side of the planet, one will never come out the other side. :(

Can you say:

Yes, saw that whilst digging.

What's on your calendar to create such an unlikely thing at July's end?

Rinaldo, HWV 7: "Lascia ch'io pianga"?

That made me appreciate Handel a bit more.

I thought you might.  That's an interesting indicator. If you like that, then there's a great ocean of Handel's vocal music out there that is just as, or more, beautiful. It was that kind of stuff that got me going on Handel - not the instrumental work.
