It came with a list of words, like an online dictionary does. The owner could allow a string or add strings, but he didn't have to create them from scratch. :)

Quite. It was silly of me to include 'only'. :)

The script that corrected "Mozart" to "Luchesi" could be charitably called ill-advised, at best. :D

One forum I posted on wouldn't let me use the word "analog".

Maybe.   :)   Ironically, I found the extreme use of the profanity blocker to be a bit anal.    ;D

I know the analgesics forum couldn't even be found! ;D

You are all mean mean meanies who make me feel bad about myself and I hate you! Goodbye!

So anyway... Actually, this place is a lot nicer than it was a couple of years ago. Genuine community feeling. Feel all snuggly.

Sorry. I'm in a weird mood today  :-\

I had a pair of pseudo shoes.  They were worthless.

When I was an impoverished student, I was visited in my flat by a friend who seemed to feel that the politically correct thing to do was to walk everywhere in bare feet. However, this was the middle of winter, and when it finally came time to leave, he couldn't bear the prospect of the hour-long walk home on the icy midnight streets. So he begged me for a pair of shoes. Since he was a foot taller than me, of course none of my shoes would have fitted. In the end, he walked into the night in an old pair of socks of mine. I never saw those socks again...

And it's better that way!

What happened to your friend? Is he now a ravenous CEO ripping off his shareholders, or did he join an ashram? Or, did you send him to a doctor to get his head tested?

Mike
DavidW: Yeah Mike doesn't get angry, he gets even.
I wasted time: and time wasted me.

Lost contact with him after he moved to a different city, and to be honest I was glad, as I was becoming very cynical about all ideologies and their adherents. Last I heard he had some drudge position with the tax department. Most political radicals end up working for the government!

knight66

That is really quite funny. I work in a tax department, though I hope not as a drudge. Don't encounter much burnt out radicalism; but for sure, anyone who thinks that the UK Civil Service is full of grey people is misinformed. It is crammed with eccentrics, some of them exceptionally bright, others we could get survive well without.

I think I might just pass on this one...

What if it were the only copy in the universe?...

Coco

Then logically there will be only one person in the universe who will shell out for it. :D

In other news: Two days ago it was 45ºF. Today it's 88ºF. Can we have some sort of consensus here, Mr. Weather?

Celsius is better. It's the superior form of temperature measurement.

You can have both if you move to Britain - we use celsius for freezing weather and farenheit for warm ::)

I would prefer the other way!  32 degrees farenheit sounds a lot warmer than 0 degrees celsius even though it's the same temperature.  (and it would feel cooler if it was 32 degrees celcius rather than 90 degree farnheit)

Of course, I may be a little bit crazy.....
