No, but many were coerced into accepting Mahler. The fear of hammers is palpable.

Oh, and you must read Gurn's Haydn series -- it's arguably one of the best things to happen in GMG in recent times.

Next semester, after comprehensive exams are done, looks like it will be fun.  Planning (at least at this point) of going to a conference in New Orleans in November.  So....hopefully, it'll be able to happen!  Will be an expensive trip.....but probably well worth it

I'm having a heart catheterisation next Tuesday. Apparently there's only a 0.4% chance of it going terribly wrong! I'm trying not to think about it. If I die, my main concern is that my friend remove my pron before my mother finds it :P

You will be fine: are you above or below 40, if we may ask?

Thanks, Cato and Karl. I'm 41. But not a big guy; what if my veins are too small for the catheter?  :o

Well, I've been off cholesterol medicine for a while now and am about to drink a Squirt soda, which contains 1% grapefruit juice.

If I keel over and die, nice knowing ya!

;D

Strange to say, the wish to drink grapefruit juice again was one of the drivers for me to get my numbers better-looking . . . .

You are not given leave to keel over, BTW.

I'm hoping that is what is going to happen.  Thankfully, it doesn't necessarily have to be 15 pages for the rough draft, but I still want to get it basically done now, and just do polishing touches for the final.

I've finally fully come out of the depression I was in since December. Honestly, I'd forgotten music sounded this good. It's been close to 15 years since I was this healthy mentally and I'm hearing music like it was the first time all over again. :D
My favourite words in classical: "Molto vivace"
