I feel that it's a well-made albeit superficial treatment. One doesn't get a chance to fully appreciate the gravitas of Wagner's art. You hardly get the nuggets of insight like: Gutrune is the only woman that Siegfried's ever come across who wasn't his aunt.

Ah, yes... because of the gigantic sign reading "America being based on God's principles, not socialism" (forgot if it was "God's Principles" or something similar). It must have been too awkward to beg by that sign. Also, according to that, I learned something new: God is against giving to the poor. All these years I had been wrong... wow...  I guess only the godless socialists will be able to help the homeless man who lost his job now.
