If they don't act on DOMA, wouldn't the lower courts rulings stand?
I believe so, but they'd have to rule that Obama and the Republicans had standing to be in court at the lower levels, but not standing to come before the Supremes. Either that, or they'd have to say everything was fine and kosher until the appeal to the Supremes.

There's a scene in the “Free For All” episode of The Prisoner (the one where no. 6 runs for the office of no. 2) . . . .

How odd such a sentence ust appear to someone who doesn't know the show . . . .

How impressive is the Havergal Brian thread? I feel like an outsider there, but goodness there is a lot of information and passion being passed around.

I'm a stranger there, myself, though there's a few Brian works (notably the monumental Gothic) which I have come to enjoy and admire.

Karl, you gonna make it to Fenway this summer? I hear there are finally seats available after what, 8 years of sellouts?

Karl Henning

Made a pilgrimage shortly after we got to Boston (I forget which team was a-visiting, forget who won).  And a couple of summers ago, I was invited on a tour of the park, which was certainly enjoyable.  That has pretty much fulfilled my Fenway desires.  My dad (God rest his soul) was one of those rarities: a New Yorker who was a Red Sox fan.  I think it very likely that my eye must have gazed upon a television when Carl Yastrzemski was playing.

I am kind of surprised it lasted through last season.

Tickets were so hard to come by for so long, most were sold way in advance, mostly to season ticket holders. This year, season ticket sales were way down. My son bought good seats for a game against Baltimore a few days ago the morning of the game.

Well, I won't get to see any more of that hot Polish girl I've known for the last few years... just her mugshot online.

Not sure what "Falsification of Ownership Pawn" means (trying to pawn something that isn't yours, maybe?), but stuff like that happens when you aren't exactly bright and like to date either drug dealers or your son's abusive dad.  :P

Strange thing I didn't know: lead poisoning is the mostly culprit for rise in violent crime a few decades ago.
Not only is there a correlation in every country, city and neighborhood, but there it also has certain neurological effects that lead to criminal behavior.
