Quote from: Greg on June 10, 2013, 07:39:17 AMoh, I didn't mention that it was posted by an older lady who is a mom (grandmom, I think, as well), not someone my age, if that's what you're saying.

That's even worse.  There's no fool like an old fool, they say.

Ha. This is pretty accurate. You can replace "two-bedroom" with one bedroom, at least in Florida.

One-bedroom = ~$650 rent + utilities. This is what it cost for my friend, in a cheaper, unsafe side of town.
Min.wage = ~$7 after taxes.
97 hours * $7 = $679. I don't think $29 will pay for gas, food, phone bills, car insurance, or health insurance.

Liquid tungsten is so hot, if you dropped it into a lava flow, the lava would freeze the tungsten.

Just thought you'd like to know...

It's so hot, I'm not waiting until I reach the lava before I drop it.

I was watching the BBC world news last night, and the story about Jeffrey Skilling's recent sentence reduction came on.  About midway through the story the picture change from Skilling to Dennis Kozlowski for some reason, but they talked only about Enron (rightly so) and not about Tyco (why would they?).  Perhaps they fired a good producer and replaced him/her with no one?

Holy fucking shit!

It's so disgusting.  These kinds of moves are of course also being seriously made in states other than Texas, sometimes by different means; 'voter ID' seems to be only one among many tacks.
That doesn't blunt the despair.  However, the medium-term blowback against Repuglicans---not only from huge swaths of Latino voters---will be fun to watch.

The First and Fourth Amendments have been under assault as of late, so why not toss in the Fifteenth as well?
