Yep, and I also think it was unexpected.

Haven't said what caused it, have they?

Don't think so, but he was at John Hopkins.

I chatted with him ONCE in an old AOL chat room...

Me: What keeps you motivated to write each day?

Tom Clancy: You got to eat, don't you?!

Got to experience an MRI machine for the first time today. For my head and neck, didn't realize my entire body would be slid into that tiny cylinder of a tunnel. Thank goodness for the earplugs! Fun times.  8)

:D

At one point I realized I would have no clue if the MRI operator fell asleep or left me.

They probably don't have an account here.

I had to go in twice for my knee, and man is that machine frightening. I dislike being confined, and that noise doesn't help. Lovecraft couldn't have imagined such horrors.  >:D

What did that poor table do to deserve such a pounding.  :(

Hey gang, I'm about to buy a TV and a Blu-Ray player, because I have neither! But here's something that has me scratching my head: why do all the TVs AND Blu-Ray players come with Wifi? I want to use Netflix and Amazon streaming, but don't I only need one thing with Wifi? Not both?

Any other advice appreciated, by the way.

This is the TV I'm planning on right now...

Smart features are standard in both bd players and tv.  BUT you can save money by getting a step down model in one or the other without those features.

My tv and my bd player are both smart... and I don't use either one for streaming.  I use my apple tv.  The Apple TV, Roku Box, and others offer much better streaming quality than the tv and the bd player.  The only thing I've seen that came close is the PS3.

Competition.  Components must have maximum flexibility and features at each price point.  Say you want to use your TV for streaming, but the router is in another room.  Wireless could come in handy.  And what if you plug your BD player into a TV without wifi - or vice versa.  I use a now "old" Samsung TV (ca 2008) that doesn't have wifi, but my Oppo does.  Since the features are cheap, it makes sense for manufacturers to throw in every bell and whistle.
