Hi all,
My wife is going to Poland to visit family in a few days.
Are there any good classical CD stores in either Katowice or Warsaw?
Are there any second hand stores in these cities as well?

Thanks,
Marvin

Huh?  Do you really think it is possible that you will find something in a Polish CD shop that can't be obtained on the internet for half the price?

Actually there are many outstanding recordings on Polish labels that aren't readily available from the usual internet outlets. Besides, half the fun of vacations is shopping for local products.

Sarge
the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

If Maciek does not pop up to reply, send him a PM. He will be able to give you the advice you need. As Sarge suggests, there will be material that is available there and not worldwide.

I do, but that's not the point.  When I vacationed in a few countries in Europe last summer, I was very interested to see what the local shops had to offer.  Even found quite a few recordings that I didn't notice to be available on the internet.  Shopping on the internet is fine, but browsing in a real store is much better.
