Oh yes. Sadly true. I cannot talk about human beings here fortunately, but in mid June I got a dark outlook (forecast) for my older (13) cat. Cancer. At the same day! while I was waiting at home for the vet to phone me, my other completely healthy cat suddenly was around my feet, I thought she was playing, then she went right to the rooms wall, panting very quickly. When I took here a really irreal, far away meeow followed. Over the day, with an immediate vet visit, she lost control over everything, late in the evening she was only lying on the side and slightly moving feet. I think she was deaf and blind over the whole day as well. She died on the way to the vet. There were 12 hrs between the sunny morning mood and death. Must have been some kind of cerebral apoplexy but no one knows.

OK sorry sorry I don't want to steal the thread. Maybe my way to tell you I'm with you, Harry.

Sorry to hear of your many troubles.  The first step in helping others is keeping yourself strong.

How terrible for you :( As a fellow cat lover I can more than understand your distress! Some people just cannot understand how close a human being can be to a beloved pet. If the pet is-essentially-one's immediate close family then there is a bond akin to that between parent and child. My sympathies!

Solitary Wanderer

Sorry to hear this Harry.

My wife has lost four of her friends this year via cancer all in their 50s-60s so its sobering stuff.

Every day is a blessing.

Take care friend  :)

Troubling times indeed, Harry - I'm saddened to hear about your situation and that of your friends and family.  :(

My thoughts are with you, and I hope that some sunshine still breaks through the clouds on even the darkest of days.

WTF? Long time no see, Mark!

Is that cat dead?

No. It just "ran out of happeh", as per the original caption.
