Beautiful creature.

Again seconding Johan, who always seems to beat me to my own comments.

On occasion I wonder if I do not love the cats that have associated themselves with me (notice my phrasing) more than the humans...

In Alan Watts's book "The Wisdom of Insecurity" (which I have read several times due to my own insecurities!), he mentions that in Dante's "Inferno", the way out of Hell is through the centre. I have found this oddly comforting during various crises and dark times in my own life.  There is no way round these things but by going through them you kind of become stronger or grow up (well I did anyway). It also sensitises you to the suffering of others.

As a cat lover I can really identify with those who suffer when cats/dogs etc become ill or die. Just this morning my sister-in-law told me that they had to have their dog put down.  People, in my experience, fall into two categories, those who understand one's love for a cat/dog etc and those who do not.  I remember some friends not understanding at all why I delayed going on holiday with them (in England) because my cat was dying.

Harry, all strength to you.

My love for animals, especially cats, is legendary amongst my friends Jeffrey, and I understand full well.

Dear Harry,  I am very sorry to hear of all the illnesses your friends and family are struggling and coping with.  Sometimes life can become difficult and we find ourselves in situations that are emotionally taxing if not unbearable.  The only thing one can do in situations like this is to be there for our loved ones and friends.  Remember a friend in need is a friend indeed! You will always have friends here at GMG, me included  :)!

Thanks Dave! Piling up is the good word. I get kind of sad from these events.
these nice pictures of cats are just wonderful.

I know for sure I am not the only one thinking of you here Harry;  prayers, thoughts and wishes have been and are being sent by many as you read this.  Music is a healing medium, and you are immersed inescapably in it, there is no choice but to let it reach those deepest hurts and do it's magic.  Get out some Rossini Overtures by our good pal Karajan, let him and Rossini throw you around a bit! ;D
We are ALL with you.

Is that cat taking a nap, or did it get killed in a fight with the other cat?   ???

It is sound asleep, as far as I can see...

I certainly hope so.  It just looks like a rather unnatural sleeping position for a cat, as if rigor mortis had set it.   :P

I'd rather say it's about deploying odour, as cats do this.

OK, you guys probably know http://lolcats.com/, just in case ...

I like the hovercat.

Marvellous :) Is the cat trying to keep you off the laptop? My cat certainly resents the amount of time I spend on my PC ;D
