Beethoven.
Overtures.
Zur Namensfeier.
Leonore opus 72b.
Fidelio
Konig Stephan.
Die Weihe des Hauses.

Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, <David Zinman>

In my ears no where near mediocre compositions. I find them piece by piece a riveting experience. In the hands of Zinman they turn into the pearls they really are.

Disc VII from this box. I play all of it for the third time, and my admiration for Jorg Demus, and his interpretations still grows. For me this box is a eye opener for the genius of Schumann.

Simplified 漢字 is a shameful part of your culture. Don't use it.

I know nothing of Chinese the language or the culture, but I am gonna give Paul the benefit of the doubt here that he is damn well entitled to use what hanzi he wants.

Fair enough. Just suggesting that he might not want to. But I'm not stopping him. One day he might understand why I said what I said, though. Then he might never use it again.

Why is that? That sounds ominous.

I don't know him personally, but he is a university professor, and I've always had a lot of respect for him.  So when you point out an "error", such as this, it looks very disrepectful.

Not that he needs defending.

I've finally gotten around to Popov's Symphony No. 1.  This has become one of my favorite pieces, which has a feeling of controlled chaos.  And all the beautiful dissonances!

What's your opinion about quality of sound of the recordings, Harry?. That set looks another great bargain.
