Fair enough. Just suggesting that he might not want to. But I'm not stopping him. One day he might understand why I said what I said, though. Then he might never use it again.

why is that? Can you elaborate? Probably not, because that you said was pure dog shit.

I don't know him personally, but he is a university professor, and I've always had a lot of respect for him.  So when you point out an "error", such as this, it looks very disrepectful.

Not that he needs defending.

I can assure you that there is no substance to what Imperfection said, nothing watsoever. INstead, it was pure premium 100% BS. I felt so awful after reading the comment too. God, how can anyone be so ignorant and so disrespectful at the same time?

Don't worry about that little dipshit, his days on GMG are numbered if he keeps up saying things like that.

Gustav is simply part of "The Untouchables" here at GMG.   :D

Walter,
You speak with such certitude when you say things like that, that it is almost as though there is no possibility that what your "opponent' says could possibly have any validity. It would be much to your advantage to not turn disagreements such as this into a platform for personal attacks. Even in the unlikely event that you are actually correct every time, and Mr. Imperfection (who at least recognizes reality) is wrong every time, it does you no honor as a person to crow about that at every opportunity and destroy the harmony of the forum with it.

Thanks you,

Interesting.  Myself, I'm apt to think I may have nearly all the R. Strauss I require . . . it is a while since I've entertained lively curiosity about Ein Heldenleben and Eine Alpensinfonie, for instance.

I am in the midst of a short bio of Bartók, though;  and Ein Heldenleben was an enormous influence upon the Hungarian composer at an early age . . . now, sometimes a bit of biographical information like that spurs me to listen to a piece to which I had been rather disinclined . . . .

So what's all the upsetness about the Chinese characters about? Is that because the simplified version was introduced by the communists? Can someone explain that, please?

I don't see why Walter is so upset either. I am not directing any personal insults toward him, and have already stopped posting anything that doesn't belong to this thread. Why can't we just forget about it and start sharing what we're listening to with others?  :)

Thanks for being a fair moderator, Gurn. Your peacekeeping is much appreciated  0:) I will not continue further with what I said earlier in this thread, in order to prevent future flame wars and derail this wonderful thread at the same time.  :)

The linear notes to this CD are the worst I have ever seen in the content-to-pretentiousness ratio. None would be preferable to this guff ;_;

The cover is cute, I guess,

I must congratulate you on your efforts in monitoring the forum. When Imperfection insulted me on the other thread, where were you then? But, now you turn up because I am exposing the idiot that he is. He said something extremely wrong, and offensive. It might not be offensive to you, but for some people it is. I assure you, and the response I gave was just.

I will be more than happy to resign, to keep up wit the "harmony" of the forum.

thank you.

So what was the whole Chinese characters argument about? Can somebody enlighten me?
