I have a cat in my novel, just a quick image of her licking her paws, called Hitler!

I have to say that I know more cats that act like Hitler ;D

Mad tantrums, violently aggressive behaviour, obsession with lebensraum, self-absorbed, attack others' territory......... :)

Not mine, of course...she is the sweetest old thing imagineable :) :)

Major difference between Hitler and a cat - Hitler was a vegetarian.

In Scotland the summer term closes at the end of June with the autumn term beginning in mid-August. That allows a fortnight's holiday during the first two weeks in October.

My ex-colleagues(notice the 'ex') went off on holiday today! Do you not get anything comparable in the sunny, warm, south of England, Jeffrey?

must be a slow news day in Europe....

Major difference between Hitler and a cat - Hitler was a vegetarian.

This appears to be a kind of urban legend, as Hitler - supposedly, apparently - wasn't a vegetarian at all. We need a fact-checker to be sure, but that's what I recall from some of his biographers I read.  :-\

Our 6 months old cat, Kili, however, resembles Hitler in another way: he (it's a he, that's were all the trouble starts) stays up all night and usally wanders around in the neighbourhood. (But at least he's not staying awake in order to watch movies, as Hitler used to do.)  8)
... music is not only an 'entertainment', nor a mere luxury, but a necessity of the spiritual if not of the physical life, an opening of those magic casements through which we can catch a glimpse of that country where ultimate reality will be found.    RVW, 1948

That's news to me. Hitler turned vegetarian under the infuence of another great humourist - Richard Wagner. That's what I have always read...

Don't let him get near the Polish border.

When I first saw this I asked myself, "Is this a cat? Is this what a cat looks like?"

Very interesting! I have now read a bit about Hitler's alleged vegetarianism on various sites on the web and it is clear that the position was not as straightforward as I had thought. Obviously someone who 'gobbles caviar" and has a liking for Bavarian sausages is not-strictly speaking-a vegetarian.

Oh well, one lives and learns :) Give me a cat anyday though ;D

Unfortunately not and I'm in work today (Saturday), although we have half-term in about three weeks time (one week holiday). I am especially looking forward to this half term as not only will we will be visiting my daughter now "studying" at the University of Leiden, but I  also hope to meet up with some mad Dutch so-called Braga Santos experts (although sadly not yourself)  ;D

Those critical of our fraternity rather snidely refer to us as BS experts. Not nice and quite untrue.
