This has little to do with music per se, but I have seen some discussions of this topic before. There's a new coffee table book out on classic cover art for classical LPs, described here and on sale at amazon, for a steep discount, here. It looks handsome, and from the illustrations, it appears that some of my own albums are included.

I think the prettiest cover I have is for Karajan's recording of Haydn's Seasons. My London Symphony recording had a lovely picture of sailboats on the Thames, but I got rid of that LP when I upgraded to CDs.

And phooey to the person who moved this thread. Don't they realize how embarrassing that is? Gee, Joe, you're just not intelligent enough to understand where this thread should go.

I wonder how many of my own old LPs it contains. Proabably very few, since I stared collecting in the 70s and most of of the covers in the book seem to go back to the 50s and early 60s.

I think one or two of my very old Carter LPs might be included, though.

Thanks a million for that. Now I know what I'll get with my Amazon gift certificates this December.

The first link looks like a very interesting website: http://www.soundfountain.com/amb/classiquereview.html.

How many of you still listen to music on a turntable?
