That's right. Another thing that should be remembered is how little it matters that the President is admired. Policy is policy no matter who (mis)articulates it, and Obama will continue the basics of American policy and the world will not like it. The world can't like it, because it isn't to be liked. So get disappointed now.

So we're prohibited from getting our hopes up because Obama isn't sworn in yet but it's okay to go ahead and forecast gloom??

Whoa!!

Here we go.  This woman is actually a member of the Texas state board of education:

Sounds like she's been listening to too much Rush Limbaugh.

Who, by the way, spent the day after the election frothing at the mouth on his radio show.

No, I don't listen to him but I know where he resides on my local AM dial. I knew he wouldn't disappoint.

Well what did you expect? It's easier to write someone off before they prove/disprove themself. ;)

He HAS already proven himself.  He's got a long history in washington, and, yes, he is consdiered HIGHLY partisan.  I'm a little surprised by the pick, but they are good friends.

Seems anyone and everyone who was involved in Chicago politics will be moving to D.C.

as for the likes of Rush, what do you expect?  This, by the way, is a GREAT development for him.  Nothing like being the guy railing at the POWER to boost ratings.

No doubt.

You mean that for him it was just a typical day.

Still remember Lush frothing when Clinton became President, "This is the first day of the Clinton occupation...etc."  He counted them up every day.

Pretty much. ;)

This show, though, took the prize for froth. Excrement piled on excrement. Full tantrum mode. Cursing everybody who voted for Obama. "Stupid" is what he called them, over and over, *incessantly*, until a behind-the-scenes person (producer?) silently intervened which actually seemed to take Rush aback for a couple of seconds (he was actually silent!).

Rush then came back with "Ignorant? You prefer ignorant?? Okay". :D

I agree...but my point (which hopefully was clear) was that reporting on Presidential failure before he's been sworn in is inherently stupid reporting.

Republican Party, Average Working Joe Bid One Another Adieu Until 2012

HA!!!!

Best Onion headline of the year!  BTW, I recently saw an actual photo of some guys in Georgia sitanding on the back on their flatbed truck holding a sign with the confederate flag drawn across it, with the words "REDNECKS FOR OBAMA - EVEN WE'VE HAD ENOUGH!!!!"

Awesome!

This always happens. The idea is to cripple the new guy at the start.

Did you see the economic team he has lined up? Rubin, Volcker, Summers, Buffett....Compared to the Bushies, these are the 1927 Yankees! (or the '85 Edmonton Oilers, but that's too obscure... :D)

Actually, for me this is less obscure! You could also say the 2007/2008 Detroit Red Wings! except that one month

Hey kids,
I find these kinds of remarks unnecessarily nasty. Whatever happened to having the intellectual capacity to withstand a formal debate or having the cojones to talk smack about someone to their face? I voted for Obama, and I am gravely disappointed by his supporters who'd sully the potential in his ideals by resorting to underhanded remarks.

This is unsurprising, Gamefaqs used to be the absolute asshole of the internet (it's recently been overtaken by YouTube in sheer Stupidity Magnitude, though). What is surprising is that the guy doesn't post using heavy abbreviation or txt speak :)

(But it's fun to read, of course.)

Ya right, as if she does that herself.  And you come to this forum for exactly what reason?

I tend to agree with Living Stradivarius and am disappointed in the comments on this thread that continue to dump on the "enemy".  Obama's won the election, and time for vile comments has ended.  Of course, folks like Maddow and Olbermann keep piling on the crap, but I hoped that board members would be more inclusive.

perhaps todays Gail Collins Op-ed in the NY Times would be of assistance...

But before any right-winger says the dems are acting like a bunch gloating school children, may I just remind the world of the "Sore/Loserman" bumperstickers of 2000, in "honor" of the "Gore/Lieberman" ticket?
