But I´ll post some spectacular LP examples by a few other interesting ones:

The composition and motif is quite good, but the setting itself dates from Schoenberg´s early period, rather than Schubert´s ;D

You are right, but --- Schubert himself woudn´t have refrained from having a pint or two with his friends while composing a dozen Lieder, would he? 8)

It also makes me wonder whether the photo was done intentionally while
Brüggen was still alive, or if he was propped there when the body was still warm. :o ::)

Those are very good indeed. The train motif in 1) is related to a movement title in one of the quartets.

Well, misleading, if the music has to do with trumpet, piano and string concertos.
I find it weird, anyway.

This is not one of the best looking covers I've seen, but it is much further from being one of the worst looking covers. I suppose it's one of the more eye-catching, and it made me stop to look and consider the disc. I'll probably pass, but it grabbed almost a solid minute of viewing time.
;D
The LP issue of Mehta's recording of Also Sprach Zarathustra was very striking. I don't have the LP any more but here is a link -

I was told many years ago that the cover won an award (no idea what) and it was the first time it had gone to a classical cover.
Bordering on gaudy, but someone put a lot of time and effort into this, unlike so many...

Can't say it's great, but the juxtaposition of fairly tasteful abstract art and off-color title (the German part; the band's name also stretches the bounds of good taste) is funny.

Well, the band's name is quite at odds with the album title: the former suggests outrageousness, the latter bourgeois complacency.
"heiße Scheiße" is not at all idiomatic German. In my impression it is an ironic translation of the English "hot/newest shit" that is in use only recently and in some niches. But there might be some joke/jargon in there I am missing.

That is correct. "They think they are hot shit" and similar phrases have been in use for at least a few decades; Wiki has an example from 1982.

It's older than that, I assure you.
I like this meme, though The Monarch's delivery in The Venture Bros. is the apogee of delivery.

I meant that the translation into German is very recent and only rarely used (usually by people fluent in English) and sounds totally undiomatic. I didn't want to offer a guess or opinion how long the phrase had been used in English
Okay, okay, guys, the hot shit matter is settled. How about strictly missionary? Any opinions? ;D

Fair enough. I mentioned these two in the New Releases thread before, but they warrant mention again:

I love this cover. Whoever took the image knows his or her stuff. Composition, lighting, pattern placement, it's all just fantastic. The skin tone makes me wonder if a monochrome camera was used. I will not buy the recording.

Elicited a chuckle, as it is no doubt meant to. Also, that's some expert post-processing for the faces. Another recording I will not buy.

Yes, a very nice one; don't know exactly where in Spain it is (apparently not Aranjuez or Segovia), though the scenery has probably changed a bit by now ...
