Meanwhile, this came in, also from Music Magpie:

Ich bin disappointed: I purchased this from Music Magpie on Amazon:

and got this instead:

A complete opera with libretto on a 2 cd set turned into a single cd of a portion of the work with no insert. I gave Music Magpie a piece of my mind. In very short order, it's the 2nd time something happens with an order from that source.
I hope they can send me the right item at no additional cost.

I have had a few similar situations with that seller and I would be very surprised if they offer you anything other than a full refund and inform you that you can keep the CD they have sent you in error. That is what has happened to me on each such occasion.

Thanks, Aligreto. If I can't get Maria Stuarda from them I guess I'll have to find another seller  ::)

There are some sellers that just cannot be bothered getting their metadata right. Someone on eBay was offering a Nielsen/Sibelius violin concerto, only they had a picture of the recording by Lin/Salonen (which I wanted) combined with text indicating the version by Vengerov/Barenboim. I decided to look elsewhere when several enquiries didn't get any improvement.

So it doesn't surprise me to hear of a seller who can't tell a full opera from the an opera extract. Too much metadata in common.
Nobody has to apologise for using their brain.

You don't need the whole opera. The story is well documented. Spoiler alert; IT ends badly.   ;)

This is a problem that I've run into with Amazon as well.

Good to see you around again, Paul! That Weinberg looks interesting. I might have to pick that one up at some point.

I am curious to see how it compares to Fedoseyev/Weiner Symphoniker recording (of which I need to listen to again)

I, too, own that Fedoseyev recording. Looking forward to your assessment.

Looks interesting. I hadn't seen that one before. I recently got the same group's "Modern Portraits" disc.

Hmm. Amazon gives the contents but does not specify who plays what. So it's a guessing game. But at $17.62 incl. s/h probably worth it.  So I ordered it.

Thanks!
If the listing is correct, and the Transcendental Etudes are not the Cziffra recording (I had assumed they were), I have absolutely none of those recordings.

The new erato

I ordered these off Wyastone's website with a 40% voucher, which makes up for the fact that they probably are CD-Rs:

[asin]B01KKE6JAU[/asin]
[asin]B00YASQWY6[/asin]

Being a Faure freak, and with Jens' recommendation, I needed this last set.

All in all this came out at £20, P&P included. Not bad.
