He was working all the way until the end. Or at least until October, when his canceled concerts here in Dallas for health reasons portended a brief forced retirement. Too bad; a great conductor.

That is sad news. I only know and have a Bruckner cycle which I have always held in high regard. RIP.

RIP.Glad I managed to hear him do Bruckner in Bergen some few years ago.

Sad news.  His Bruckner is in my queue, and so will act as a sonic memorial.  I heard him conduct in late 2015, leading Mozart, Brahms, and Lutoslawski.  One of the violinists mentioned to a family member in front of the stage that even at that late date, he had stood during all performances and practices.  I hope I have that kind of energy if I make to my 90s.

Sad to hear this, but it seems he had an incredibly productive life devoting it to music.  I really ought to listen to his Bruckner sooner or later. :)

One of the great conductors for sure. He will be missed. RIP Maestro Skrowaczewski.

I like his Beethoven, Brahms and Bruckner.

Rest In Peace, mister Skrowaczewski.

I've mentioned it before: I had the chance to see Mr. Skrowaczewski conduct Beethoven's PC1 (Francesco Piemontesi was the solosits) and Bruckner's 4th with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia a couple of seasons ago, and it was a memorable concert by all accounts. Music-making of the highest calibre.

R.I.P. a great musician... :(

A sad loss.

His 90th birthday box is exceptional.
