Having recently learned about the existence of this forum, I'm pleased to join it. I won't post very much, but I will certainly lurk here. When I post it will likely be in the 20th/21st century related threads.

I checked out the discussions about Ligeti and Schnittke and was much impressed by the familiarity that posters had with those two composers' music, and I'm looking forward to reading what folks have to say about other favorites, such as Lutoslawski, Boulez, and Kurtag, among others.

Cheers, Peter

Welcome, Peter, and yes, many fans here (including me) of all the composers you mention. Do feel free to chime in when the urge strikes! In any case, have a good time.

Nice to see you here!  I'm a refugee from one forum and a voluntary immigrant from another, both of which I know you from.

Greetings from me too. Hope you enjoy your time here.

Welcome. A name I seem to recognize.  ;)

arpeggio

Welcome.  Your knowledge of music will be appreciated here.

PeterFromLA

Thanks for the welcome, gents, I'm getting the impression this is a friendly place.

It's good to see you, again, Arpeggio and Mahlerian. I'd wondered where the two of you had ambled off to!

Welcome aboard! Your screen name looks rather familiar. Have we had any conversations in the past? Sorry my memory isn't as good as it used to be since it has been many years as to when I was a member of another forum.

Welcome and enjoy the forum!
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

Hollywood

Howdy PeterFromLA. Does the LA stand for Los Angeles or Louisiana? If it's for Los Angeles, whereabouts? I was born in Hollywood and grew up in Eagle Rock (northeast L.A.). Anyway, greetings from a L.A. Lady living in Vienna, Austria. Welcome to the forum.  8)

Thanks for the welcome, aligreto...

Hey Mirror, Possibly, for about ten years I was on the recently defunct forum associated with devastating retail stores across the land; I hope I didn't contribute to the devastation!

Hey Hollywood, born in Hollywood here, in fact... grew up mostly in Pasadena and environs. Still live in LA part year, though closer to the area where I was born...

Cheers, Peter

OMG! We were pretty much neighbors with you growing up in Pasadena and me in Eagle Rock. And you were also born in Hollywood as well. Now if you were also born at the Kaiser Sunset hospital in the same year I was, that would be truely blow my mind.  8)
