I wanted to sift through my music collection for ages now. There is a lot of stuff I will not play anymore and I need good homes for it. I cannot find enough people in my surroundings to give them away so I posts this topic to see if any of the European music lovers will want the CD'S I want to get rid off. All the recordings I will give away are in pristine condition and more than often of a good quality in terms of recording and performance. I have started a thread long ago called Harry's refusal Bin, but I cannot find it anymore, so hence this new topic.
I cannot send them for free, so I require that you pay the postage and eventual packing boxes, but that's all. I also require you to book over that amount on my account first before I send them to you. Needless to say I am totally trustworthy in that matter.
As a side note, I cannot send anything to the states,* firstly because of import taxes and secondly because in the past many packages I send, and they were substantial ones, got lost.
So if there is any enthusiasm for this idea? Let me know. As a teaser I put the first two items in this list.

Haydn, The complete Symphonies, Antal Dorati conducting. The original package. Decca. (Gone)
The Complete SQ, Kodaly Quartet, Naxos.

I want to stress that this offer is open to anyone in Europe, long standing member or not.
When there is enough response I will start culling my collection. There is bound to be a lot that has to go.
*I will send to the US if you are willing to take the risk.
All CD'S are in lightweight covers, so no jewel boxes, that took at least 50% of the weight. Good to know in regard to the postage of sending them.

Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

I wanted to sift through my music collection for ages now.

That's a very generous offer - I'll be looking enthusiastically!

Now, if I live in Europe, I'd certainly make the drive over to the Netherlands.
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.

Same here, Paul. I'd drop by to see both Johans as well. 8)

And my wife has to sanction the rejects too, if she says no its no. This much I learned after 35 years of marriage.  ::)
The key step in the process!! :)
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

The lot...this came out of the culling expedition.

Considering the size of your collection, that's actually quite modest.... :D

I must admit I am not very well versed in the Gronniger dialect.
It was something to be ashamed of in my youth.
Consequently I suck at writing it.
But I can speak it quite a bit.
But still it is not done in the circles I frequent.

It's not my 'mother tongue' either, but my dad is 'genuine Grunneger', so I it's my 'father tongue' and I picked up quite a bit. :)

So the 120 CD on GMG are for the takers.

Just for all members to know. Coming Saturday all the remaining CD'S that are not taken by members on GMG will be collected by a music enthusiast and woman friend of mine now living in Spain. She eagerly wants them all, but said that it would be okay for others still to participate.
So last chance until Saturday.
