Please vote only if you have listened to at least most of these recordings.

Edit: At least comment on why you do not vote after 34 views :) ???

I think I've only heard three or so of those recordings.  So I didn't vote.

I've listened to one of these recordings (Bohm, Berlin). I don't have any memory of it. I think it was pretty dull. I vote for Harnoncourt/Concertgebouw because I own it, I listened to No 2 from the same set, it was great, and I believe I will listen to No 5 someday.

The Fifth, my favorite Schubert symphony. Of the ones you listed, I've only heard Solti, Davis and Abbado. But they aren't my favorite performances. I own these:

SOLTI
WEIL
WAND
BERNSTEIN
CELIBIDACHE
GOODMAN
HARNONCOURT
IMMERSEEL
DAVIS
BLOMSTEDT
MAAZEL
ABBADO

Wand (his last recording) and Weil (with a swift Andante con moto) are at the top of my heap.

Harnoncourt gets my vote for the best complete cycle (not that you asked  ;) )

I only own

- HARNONCOURT
- MARRINER
- BEECHAM
- SCHERCHEN
- KERTESZ

so didn´t vote, but have no real favourite.
Except Scherchen is disppointing here, and Marriner´s set overall lacks interest IMO.
I´d probably grab for Kertesz or Beecham for an entertaining listening experience.
I prefer Schubert´s symphonies 8+9.

Maazel did it? Wow! I wish I liked Schubert symphonies better, I'd get it.

So why don't you use 'other' and post your favorite among those "three or so"?  :)

It is...partly nostalgia: I played a band version of the Andante con moto in high school.

Yes, with the SOBR:

My favourites are wide apart stylistically, although their conductors belong to the same generation:

Fritz Busch and the Winterthur Symphony Orchestra.
Bruno Walter and the Columbia Symphony.

You specified that we should only vote if we have heard "most of these recordings," and I don't have a strong enough preference anyway.  Nice symphony, though!

I don't very much care for this charming piece (my favorite early Schubert symphonies are 2 and 3), probably because it is played so frequently or appears as a filler. Of the ones mentioned I have heard one Böhm on LP (with the b minor) many years ago, as well as Davis, Mackerras, Harnoncourt.
I have probably around 5-7 others (Klemperer, Maazel, Beecham, Fischer-Dieskau (EMI, one of his handful as a conductor), Weil, Spering,...)

This is an earlier recording with Maazel and the Berlin Phil (around 1960) on DG. Unfortunately this cycle lacks 1 and 9 but the extant 2-8 are lively and brilliant, maybe even a little too much on the brilliant side. I highly recommend it although as I said I can hardly single out the 5th because I tend to listen to others more, if I want to listen at all to early Schubert.

Other...

Harnoncourt, with RCO or BPO, either one. Both are great.

He did the 5th with Berlin? Why was I not informed???? (I've only come across the Schubert 4th with Berlin.)

Recently I was very impressed by Marc Minkowsky/Les musiciens du Louvre.

I don't remember such a joyful and dreaming opening by any other I've heard.

I must admit that I burnt out on it a bit in the early CD era when the Beecham was one of my few CDs and was played over and over.

RebLem

Best Schubert 5th is the Thomas Beecham recording with the Royal Philharmonic.  Of the others listed, the Marriner is best.

I didn't vote because the only one of those I've heard is Böhm/Berlin.  I like that one quite a bit, it's lithe and airy sounding.  But again, it's hard to beat Walter in Schubert.  I should listen to the Kertesz, as I usually love his recordings.

ComposerOfAvantGarde

Damn, this would have been a great blind listening thing I reckon. I don't listen to much orchestral Schubert, but I really like Minkowski's recording.
