Gerry Rafferty: City to City

'Baker Street' and all that. I met him a couple of times during the early 1980s. Like all of us, flawed - but like relatively few, a good guy. Check out 'Right Down the Line'.

e: cover art by the artist and playwright John Byrne. And if you haven't seen it before, beg/steal/borrow his BAFTA award winning BBC Scotland series 'Tutti Frutti' - Emma Thompson, a pre 'One Foot in the Grave' Richard Wilson, Robbie Coltrane, and a host of well kent Scottish talent.
"You overestimate my power of attraction," he told her. "No, I don't," she replied sharply, "and neither do you".

Yeah - Desolation Row is such a great song.  It inspired me to pluck from my wishlist the mono box of all the early records. Those are all of my favorites.

I used to play and sing lots of Donovan at parties back in the day. He was one of my favourites back then. I still have a lot of his LPs but have not played any in a long time.........

I prefer this version to the album one actually, less produced.

I just had to squeeze this album today (for some reason):

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."
