Now I am wondering if there are two white Melodiya box sets, for I found an eBay listing that confirms the CMG info, including the all Bach CD 01
Allmusic also has this set listed and it has the same contents as listed on CMB and eBay. https://www.allmusic.com/album/release/daniil-shafran-cello-mr0003639032

Are you thinking of another Melodiya box, ccar?

Yes George the Vol 1 you are referring is probably a more recent "version" of the Melodiya box - I do have the first "version" from 2005 with Vol 1 as I described before. This is the version you still see in most Amazon sites. To help clear this issue I include a picture of vol 1 (first version 2005) and all the contents with MEL reference numbers of each disc (from the 2005 box). As the Bach suites are more easily available in many other editions I would probably prefer this first "version" to the recent one. Anyway, these are wonderful performances and the sound is quite good.

Label(s): Melodiya Year of release: 2005 Composer: Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Claude Debussy, Frederic Chopin, Sergey Rachmaninov, Johannes Brahms, Sulkhan Tsintsadze, Igor Stravinsky, Sergey Prokofiev, Dmitri Shostakovich, Luigi Boccherini, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Franz Joseph Haydn Performer: Daniil Shafran CD: 1 Schubert - Sonata No. 1 in D major, "Arpeggione" Schumann - Adagio and Allegro for French horn and piano, Op. 70 Debussy - Sonata for cello and piano in D minor MEL CD 10 00711 CD: 2 Chopin - Sonata for cello and piano in G minor, Op. 65 Rachmaninov - Sonata for cello and piano in G minor, Op. 19 MEL CD 10 00712 CD: 3 Brahms - Sonata for cello and piano Nos. 1, 2 Tsintsadze - Five pieces for cello and piano MEL CD 10 00713 CD: 4 Stravinsky - Italian Suite Pulchinella Prokofiev - Sonata for cello and piano in C major, Op. 119 Shostakovich - Sonata for viola and piano, Op. 147 MEL CD 10 00714 CD: 5 Boccherini - Concerto No. 9 in B flat major Haydn - Concerto No. 2 in D major, Op.101 Tchaikovsky - Variations on the Rococo Theme MEL CD 10 00715

Ah, OK. Mystery solved! Thanks, ccar!

I've been listening to and enjoying the Brilliant Classics set all week!
