Taneyev: Symphonies 1 & 3 [T. Sanderling]

Do you have any recording of the 4th Symphony? If not, this is the one to get:

Incredibly powerful performance.
The current annihilation of a people on this planet (you know which one it is) is the most documented and at the same time the most preposterously denied. The terror IS REAL more than ever!

Where should I start with Takemitsu? Preferably some soothing, calm, meditative music.

This album with a lot of flute and harp springs to mind - https://www.discogs.com/Toru-Takemitsu-Toronto-New-Music-Ensemble-Robert-Aitken-Chamber-Music/release/1389986

For Romantic orchestral music though, and still fairly soothing, you can listen to this one for free at https://archive.org/details/03ToruTakemitsuFantasmaCantosII1994ForTromboneAndOrchestra

No, this is my first venture into Taneyev. Thank you for the recommendation.

With the arrival of other recent orders posted here previously, I think this will be it this side of summer.

Nice!  :)
I have a bit of an Lully infatuation, but the obstacle is often the lack of time to sit through some of his lengthy operas.

This relatively recent release of chamber music by Reynaldo Hahn has garnered positive reviews. I thought I'd order it now, as who knows for how long it'll be available...

It includes the two String Quartets, the Piano Quintet, and smaller works for violin or cello and piano.

The new erato

I've been searching for this on some of the suppliers I use, but with little luck. Where did you find it (I have very little use for amazon these days for various reasons)?

ritter

I've ordered it from Amazon Spain (prime, delivery date in two days). But it seems you have to look for "Tchalik" rather than "Hahn" to find it on Amazon.

If Amazon is not an option, then jpc has it (a bit more expensive) "am Lager": https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/detail/-/art/kammermusik-fuer-streicher/hnum/10428643.

The new erato

Thanks. Hoping for jpc to be able to actually receive payments some time in the future.......or for it to be released in the UK.

I use paypal these days without any problems, thank God!
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

"When Time hath gnawed our bones to dust, yet friendship's echo shall not rust"

+ 1 This is the only way I pay on websites outside of Amazon.
