This sort of thing happens a lot with me, I'm afraid. I incurred brain damage in 1983, and while the medical staff treating me at the time tested me for long-term memory deficits, they didn't test my short- term memory, which was in fact compromised.

That's why phone and computer alerts were invented, to aid the memory compromised, including memory impairment caused by long term exposure to smart phones.
