Did you bump into Pooh and Christopher Robin?  :)

We might be getting a bit of snow here this morning, but I doubt that it will stick as the temps are creeping up.

Had a lovely walk on Monday along a river.  It became increasingly icy in spots, so we didn't follow it as far as normally, but it was sunny out and not windy.  Found a sheltered spot and sat in the sunshine for a while too....very peaceful.

Nice PD. Pooh and Christopher Robin were slightly further to the North.  :)

Stuck home amidst an ice storm warning today. Expecting at most, .40 inches of ice today and travel is not advised.

Winds are supposed to really pick up, so we are hoping the electricity holds up if the lines are all iced.

Currently getting hit with a major snowstorm - the first forecasts were in the >30 cm range, but now they are saying 15 to 30 cm. I think we have about 20 on the ground, but I haven't been outside yet. Temperature -8º C, so most likely it is of the light and fluffy variety.

Another day stuck indoors where travel is still not advised due to ice and cold temps. The county next over received the .40 inch ice that was forecasted, so we are somewhere slightly below that.

Electricity is affecting that county badly as well; luckily our electricity lines are buried, but we can still be affected by the major winds.

Ice storms are not good!  Glad that you have power.

Yup, winter isn't over yet!  Glad though that you're getting the fluffy stuff.

We had a mixed bag of "stuff" over the night--a mixture of sleet I think that coated the sidewalks.  I had to spend a fair bit of time using a garden spade to scrape up the frozen stuff on the sidewalk this morning.

We've just had the skirting-the-freezing-point wintry mix. Not at all inviting, out there.

Over here it is the exact opposite.  Unseasonably warm.  Everything (trees, grass, weeds) is coming back early.

Very soft winter weather in Helsinki. Temperature -1°C (+30°F) and almost no wind. It "feels" like -4°C (+25°F).
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Here in Coastal California there has been snow right up to the beach, at Morro Bay and San Simeon. Significant accumulations just inland even at fairly low elevation and as far south as Los Angeles. Not unprecedented but certainly out of the ordinary.

I read about that (yesterday I believe)!  I can understand in the mountains, but wow!

It's supposed to be bitterly cold here for the next few days...brr!  At least not into the negatives though.  Earlier in the month, I had one of my pipes freeze--first time I've ever experienced that.  Had to call a plumber in and on the weekend.  Thankfully, not much water leaked out...could have been much worse.

Reading about the snow and ice is quite wierd for me. Although the overnight lows are in the cool/comfortable range (about 70F) the daily highs have been in the mid 80s for the last few days. I actually had my AC running for much of the day today.

How are you feeling Karl?  Are you still experiencing bad Covid symptoms?  I hope not.

Ah, the wonders of living in a large country with many climatic variations!  The 70's sound lovely.  Mid-80's and I'm guessing fairly high humidity (or not?) are not my cup of tea.  I imagine that ocean breezes would help though.  :)

I live 13-14 miles inland, so the ocean breezes are generally theoretical for me.
