I like Promises Promises and You'll Never Get to Heaven, sung by Dionne Warwick. Still I personally think Close To You is his best composition. Also I like the albums below.

Jeff Greinke: Scenes From A Train

This is fundamentally a Jazz based album but it is wonderfully infused with a little classical music vibe and an electronic music element. It is a wonderful fusion that works very well for me. I found it to be a very atmospheric, engaging and interesting listen. I had no knowledge of Greinke prior to hearing this.  It is a wonderful and full sounding album. I would certainly be interested in hearing more of his music.

Wow, what a band he's got on that one. Would you recommend?

Yes, the album and his Swing, Swang, Swingin are fun music. Some songs are in quartet format, some are in quintet, and others in sextet, thereby the album title. His later recordings like Vertigo, A Fickle Sonance, Demons Dance are sharper  and nice too.

Great album. Despite being one of the great Chicago players, due to his move to Europe I only ever saw him once, and that was at a jazzfest.

OMG, you saw him! That's great and I'm envious.

I believe it was a Chicago sax reunion in the mid-80s featuring--I think--Griffin, Von Freeman, and Clifford Jordan. Memory's pretty hazy now.

I'm curious who was on piano since Chicago produced an equal number of fine pianists, though some (Ramsey Lewis and Ahmad Jamal) rarely did sidemen work. Best guess is Jodie Christian.

Eddie Gomez- Beautiful Love [With Billy Drummond & Yutaka Kobayashi]

This album comprises terrific music and music making. There is a wonderful exciting atmosphere pervading the album which is enhanced by the many wonderful individual performances. When Di Meola features, he is excellent in his delivery as one would expect.

Hadn't been aware of this Yazoo collection before now.

(can something be "forgotten" and a "classic" at the same time?)
