Yeah, Wheeler was simply nasty for several innings but I knew you couldn't count Atlanta out. Not at home, especially. And then that 9th inning....

Funny how failing to do the basics will trip up even players who should know better in the playoffs.

Which he improved to 10 K's in 7. Great game for Wheeler. Unfortunately not good enough to seal the deal. Close game! That game ending double play was beautiful. No doubt y'all would have tied it up if not for that great deep center field catch by Harris.

Can't say I feel sorry L.A. Too many years as a Yankee fan to have much sympathy. Looks like they're goin home after Wednesday. I've watched a few Diamondback games this season and have been impressed at the younger talent. Should be a fun Game 3.

Yeah, he was throwing strikes, too; wasn't painting corners or avoiding the bigger bats. Though he always had lights out stuff I don't remember him being this efficient during his stay with my Metropolitans. Wish they had held on to him longer. (Save de Grom, and of course he's gone now, it's become a stupid trend with that team.) I remember when Zak was the bane of the Phils...

I couldn't watch last night's game, my Sling subscription doesn't include Fox.  So I guess that means I won't be able to watch the World Series either.  I had thought FS1 or FS2 would carry those games  both of which are in my plan - but no.

I am glad they won, too bad for the Orioles - but now I really hope the Rangers kill the Astros. Nice to have an all Texas ALCS.

Hmm, I watched the Rangers-Orioles game on FS1 through Sling last night, too bad it didn't work for you. Maybe it's based on region. I don't really know how Sling works, but I paid for a month of it so I could watch playoff games and so far I've been able to see all of the ones I've wanted to see. It was a good game, though. Your Rangers hit three homers and Nathan Eovaldi pitched a clean 7 innings. I didn't like to see the Orioles get swept like that after winning 101 games in the regular season, especially by a Texas team ;D but good for them. If/when they play the Astros I'll definitely be rooting for them; I still hate the Astros from back in the day when they were in NL Central and I was a die hard Cardinals fan as a kid.

Are you in a location with a nearby FOX station? It's easy to get the major networks off-the-air in urban areas without needing cable or internet. Where I am, about 60 stations come in by antenna, including ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, and Fox. When I travel, I take a small tablet-sized television with me in case the services available are lacking. When in Maine recently, I was able to watch (unfortunately) the Patriots/Cowboys game on FOX by antenna.

That game was unfortunate ;D

Unfortunate is an understatement. Thank goodness for the Jets. Otherwise, the Patriots might be worrying about a winless season.

I don't know why it wasn't available to me.  I live in a rural county in Tennessee; the closest town of 950, Gainesboro, is 5 miles away.  The next closest "city" is Cookeville, 30K, and it is a 45 minute drive.

They won the Western Division over the Astros, and as a long time Yankee fan I hate the Astros, even before 2017.

Yeah, I was wondering, have we ever seen that?

Bryce Elder can't get through 3 innings as the Phillies' Bryce goes yard to make it 4-1, Philadelphia.

Now 6-1 :'( the Phils putting up a crooked number so early in the game, at CB Park no less, does not bode well for Atlanta. Too bad about Elder, he was off to a fine start.

Not likely. I don't think the Rangers have made the playoffs since Houston switched leagues.

You're a Braves fan? Sorry, my man...

Beastmode tonight. Harper just hit 2nd homer as Phils go up 7-1.

Yeah... newly so. Atlanta was an adopted home for several years until I moved up north recently. I wanted to see them cement a killer season with a killer off-season, but oh well, that's how the playoffs go.

Welp, Houston Does Dallas in the ALCS is a go. The Snakes are smoking again tonight too.

Braves better play better tomorrow than they did today... I had to turn off the game after Bryce Harper hit that second homer.

Edit: re: Snakes, they just made history with four homers in a single inning in the postseason. Damn!

Ha, in truth, I didn't stick around long after that, either.

This Ohtani-New Balance spot has bugged me during the postseason mostly because of the great funk track in the background. (Frankly, I remember when NB sneaks were considered "old men shoes"  :D )

I couldn't identify the band, though it's clearly a 70s sample. A Shazam read revealed it to be Hey You from the Experience Unlimited Free Yourself album.

Wonder what they're asking for tix to tonight's Braves-Phils game at CBP. Might venture a trip.

To a bar across the street.  ;D  Cheapest seat is $400. I like the Phils but only my Mets get that kind of money from me.   :)

The Red Sox take a lot of heat for letting Mookie Betts go, and I can't disagree with it, but he really does disappear in the postseason.
