Meet Dasha, a wonderful reactor taking on 2001: A Space Odyssey and killing it.

Quote from: Nunc Dimittis on July 06, 2023, 01:37:49 PMThen there are the reaction videos to another reaction video.  I like to cook, so the videos of professional chef James Makinson reacting to a reaction video made by a comedian, who has created a character called Uncle Roger, reviewing the likes of Jamie Oliver, Rachel Ray and Youtube chefs are quite fun - the food being made in some of those videos, though, not so much fun.  See here for an example

I don't like James Makinson's reactions because he doesn't add much, and has no personality... but Uncle Roger is fire!  I'm subbed to his channel now.  He is so funny!

Technically off-topic, I suppose, as a critique and not a reaction vid per se.

I check in with Filmmaker periodically,  he seems to be a well-balanced and reasonably articulate individual.

He's also one of very few reactors who have taken on David Lynch's The Elephant Man:

Quote from: BWV 1080 on September 29, 2023, 07:56:00 AMI really hate the genre and hate their clickbaity stupid expressions on the thumbnails.  Who cares what some YouTube rando thinks about something?  I get particularly annoyed by the pretentious titles these people give themselves like 'professional composer reacts to Bach'  or whatever

Now get off of my lawn

I think these reaction videos can be much needed* escapist comedy.

Dasha's Russian accent is a feat in itself.

One of my preferred reactor/reviewers is RandomGaminginHD, here testing the much hated RX 6500 XT graphics card.

I'm thinking my next card will be an Intel Arc (with a "c". Don't ask me why. I mean these guys have no logic at all).

That channel is so good that even the guys at Digital Foundry watches it!  From what I can tell the Arc are becoming the go to entry level cards, mostly due to amd and Nvidia abandoning that market, but also Intel keeps improving their driver support.

I have an rx 7800xt.

Woah! I have my eye on the Arc 580 for my next build from MicroCenter. It'll be fine for gaming as I'm unlikely to suddenly go for AAA games that are hellaciously hard to run.

With an i5-13600 plus the Arc card video encoding will be great as the QSV on both can be linked.

The part of the video where he was using rt max on Cyberpunk but with fsr ultra performance at 1080p was actually really funny because you have raytraced reflections but with image quality comparable to 240p!
