Angelfish: Angelfish (1994)

Pre-Garbage Shirley Manson!

Kalevala

Quote from: Kalevala on October 15, 2024, 11:43:31 PMOne of the greats:  Linda Ronstadt.  Amazing range.  She sang country, rock, Mexican music, and operettas...and was a kind enough person who knew talent and had worked with various musicians and to help form The Eagles.  A mix of serendipity and acts of kindness it sounds like to me.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqYnztvtV7o

And it took her that long to get nominated into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Look at the faces on those guys including nods from some about why she wasn't there and should be.

K

One of her hits (with Andrew Gold an Waddy Wachtel).

Did not know such a thing existed.  May have to listen.

First time I have listened to that Angelfish record in a long time, and I was pleased to know I still enjoyed it.  ;D

It's of its time. But if you like Shirley's singing or just alternative rock from that mid-90s era, it's well-recommended.

Been looping two songs on this release: Cozy Mystery Worm-Code and Darkatron.

Man, I was born in the right time - synthwave, it just makes me feel good, loved, soft, or, to quote Eek the Cat, "warm and fuzzy."

A cartoon from the 1990s, and one of my nicknames because people say I sound like him.

Part 1 of Linda Ronstadt being introduced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2014!).  I suspect that she didn't attend due to effects from Parkinson's....but why so freaking long to be inducted?!  The more that I learn about her career, her record sales, and how she helped people, the more that I'm amazed.

Glen Frey is the speaker in the first clip (including clips of her singing and history)

The second video features tributes of some of the people that have worked with her and/or appreciated her work:  Glen Frey, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, etc.  And Stevie, yup!  And good to see Waddy Wachtel playing there.

Darn!  I wish that I had been at the Troubadour!

No. 6, did you watch any of the videos?  If nothing else, PLEASE watch the first one; she deserves it. Trust me here.  :)  Sorry, hard to understand what someone knows and what they watch; not trying to be mean.

Best wishes,

K
