There was much to be thankful for. I got to spend a week with old friends I don't see as often as I should like. On Wednesday a cold settled into my chest, and I wound up spending a lot of time indoors resting and trying to mend. Not at all how I envision a vacation. My voice is still hoarse, which is a nuisance for tomorrow's rehearsal and Tuesday's concert, but we shall carry on.

Gosh, I thought I'd replied. Still feeling pretty rough (and I've no voice) so we've decided that the band will do tomorrow's program without me conducting. I'll watch online.
