What's next?-- Bax never had proper hominy grits?!

How should we know hominy grits? Count 'em yourself!

Probably not biscuits and gravy!

As an aside, from what I understand, he had a cat (or a different one at times?) sitting on him whilst composing...I think on his tummy and maybe higher up (I forget).  :)

Cats as well!? Were the biscuits and cats simultaneous do you think?

Much, sir, depends on the cat.

Maybe they were cat shaped biscuits, or what we would call animal crackers?

Vaughan Williams and, from what I've read, his favorite cat Foxy.

Look at that look on his face and how he's relaxed and at peace, the cat's expression/ears/body language, etc., and how he is holding Foxy.  Another reason that he's one of my favorite composers.

Oof, I want to have a pipe of The Shire's Finest Leaf and a brandy with  this man.

I suppose the packet of biscuits is just beyond the view of the camera. Pity. It would have answered so many questions.

A variant on Schrodinger's cat, perhaps? When you open the box, you either find a cat, or a pile of biscuits, and you never know which it will be.

You need to get to the other side of the river in less than 5 moves. You have cat, a packet of cookies, and a composer. How do you do it?

When I stop laughing, I'll try to figure this out ...

Sensible name for a cat.

I wonder how much of that has to do with the shape of the cat's face?

They played the 'Romanza' from the 5th Symphony on BBC Radio 3 yesterday (Hallé Elder- a highly regarded recording). It was played slowly with a full-on sentimental treatment - I thought it was terrible and nearly turned the radio off. I much prefer either Barbirolli recording or, best of all, the composer's own recording, Hickox is also good. I like the emotion to be understated in Vaughan Williams and generally find it more affecting for being so.
"Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm" (Churchill).

'The test of a work of art is, in the end, our affection for it, not our ability to explain why it is good' (Stanley Kubrick).
