So, "hand pies" (called various things around the world).    I just found a recipe that I'm tempted to try for a cabbage and mushroom pie.  Looking forward to your pic(s) when you have a chance and finding out what she puts in her recipe.

Believe it or not, the little actual work (adding cues to the flute part of the Intermezzo) and the thought laid into the chamber call, has been very tiring. That's life since my stroke. At some point I will slouch from Why should I even bother? to I ain't gonna bother.

In my experience with writing papers and drafting legal stuff, editing and revising required more concentration and induced more headaches than producing the rough draft.

The solution for the chamber call has come to me: I'll pare For You, Fuchsia down to 12 players. Since the piece itself is a gloss on an unaccompanied flute, there's no "loss."

One of the calls is looking for both orchestral and chamber scores (chamber works for 7-12 players ... most of my present catalogue is for fewer, or more. I need to mull). For orchestra, I'll anonymize a number from White Nights. The most work needed now is to prep parts. There is time.

Part of me wants not to bother, since so often, my work has been "insufficiently sexy" for this or that panel. Nut, you never know.

Damn the torpedoes! The instrumentation for the orchestral score is large enough to accommodate my piece. What the hell.

Bad news and good news. Bad: silly me, I done all that work prepping orchestral parts, when my piece too short for the call. Good: string orchestra pieces are eligible, so I'll submit the Op. 175a.

And the bottom line for me is that For You, Fuchsia and the Elegy are two strong entrants. I am content. To another call, I'll send the original clarinet choir version of Misapprehension. I have a couple of days.

Won't work: Misapp. is for clarinet choir in 15 parts, and the call specifies maximum 12 parts. I'll see if a Plan B occurs to me over the next couple of days.

Sounds kind of a fun outfit, but I don't think Misapprehension would work, transposed down so. So, I'm still a-mulling.
