 8) Great set. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have, although I believe I have to listen to the last disc. (Making a mental note for some of tonight's listening.)

I auditioned it streaming. The recordings of the piano trios sealed the deal!

It is indeed hard to find, the reason why I bit the bullet pretty early on. I suspect FB issues smaller editions on discs now....

I bought it on disc at French Amazon, but most of the Amazons still have copies (at increasingly prohibitive prices). ASIN: ‎B0DNV91JQM

PS I don't know what to do with downloads...I either buy it on disc or keep streaming it.

Burn them to CDR.

That would be a viable option, particularly for the increasingly frequent "download-only" issues.

Thread duty - just ordered:

This is what I have done for about 15 years. Never had any serious problems. Of course one needs CDRs of decent quality and a good burner program using red book standard.

I collect the series but never found a physical copy on presto (my only current supplier) even 4 months ago. Fortunately it is on qobuz and contains two masses available in very good recordings elsewhere. 30 Euros on jpc + postage, VAT and handling charges means it will end up costing 50 Euros which no disc is worth.

And BTW the Schumann set is superb.

Be prepared to hear some of the most powerful, intense Beethoven, Bruckner and Shostakovich available from any source. Oh, and an amazing Flying Dutchman, too ! That set is a gem.

From jpc:

The Black Oak Ensemble performs string trios by Jean Françaix, Jean Cras, Henri Tomasi, Robert Casadesus, Gabriel Pierné, Émile Goué and Gustave Samazeuilh. Hat tip to @Symphonic Addict .

Pièces de chair II is Bussotti's first major work, from 1958. This was released a couple of months ago, but I failed to get wind of that fact until now.

The complete music for solo piano by Riccardo Malipiero, the 12-tone nephew of Gian Francesco.

I've been looking into Antoine Busnoys/Busnois recently. There are very few recordings, but I came accross this fringe recording on a small Dutch label. Performances by well known Dutch singers led by Harry van der Kamp.

Ordered for a few euros:

Never seen this before. Nice find!

I've enjoyed everything I've heard from Busnoys. One standout for me is the motet Anima mea liquefacta est as performed by Ferrara Ensemble on the album The Whyte Rose.
