So Karl, do you have to familiarize yourself ahead of time with any of the curriculum that will be taught in any of the courses that you might sub for or do you just go in blind?

I had a bite of dinner after the concert, so I'm only back home now. I had great fun. A couple of my pieces are quite a challenge even for these doughty colleagues, but everything carried off. The audience well outnumbered us musicians four or five to one, and audience response was uniformly warm and appreciative. Thoroughly gratifying!

It was, in a number of ways, the most ambitious program the Ensemble has presented in a while. "Perfection" wasn't even a question. It was, with its divers imperfections, perhaps the best performance we've given in some little while.
