There's a strange problem over in the David Hurwitz thread.  I tried clicking on the newest post:  nothing showed up there and also there are doubles of the reply header and the mark read.

Well, things are back to normal there now.   :)

"You don't have permission to access this resource.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

Tried other thread, all is fine.

This happened to me yesterday and continues today. Tried a few different browsers with the same results.

Quote from: AnotherSpin on July 19, 2025, 11:40:11 PMVery strange. In the end, I managed to post an image in the thread WAYL2N, but when I tried to add a few lines of text to the image, I kept getting an error again. Nevertheless, a short text of a few words did go through.

This has been happening to me a lot recently. I typed a long post with several quotes (in the Birders Nest section), and when I tried to submit it, I got the 'FORBIDDEN!' treatment and the post was refused. I discovered that if I broke down the post into little morsels, they would go through with no problem, but I could find no pattern to what was happening.

I've switched from Firefox to Edge, and haven't experienced the problem again, but then I've only tried a few short posts so far.

I still get "Forbidden" at the start of a session. But never after that. So it's a very minor inconvenience where I basically retype that I want the index page.

Google tells me there's probably  something up with the "htaccess" file. Apparently it's quite a common error with php but it would still be nice to get rid of it.

For several days, I get a Forbidden, you don't have permission to access this resource page when I try to post to the "Last Movie You Watched" thread.

That was inexcusably ill-humored of me. I crave the collective pardon.

I read another source online that suggested it may be a forum built-in spam filter that is seeing our own legitimate posts and incorrectly thinking they are spam. How this filter never captures any ACTUAL spam...  ::)  ::)  ::)  ::)  ::) ... is beyond me. But that is another possibility.

Karl is currently encountering the problem across multiple posts. I have only encountered it once, a quite long post that I eventually rewrote with different words and was able to successfully submit.

Is it a question of posting (or trying to) longer than a tweet, do you think?

When I was rewriting that post I was trying to submit, I started believing all sorts of conspiracy theories, but I'm not sure there's evidence for any  :( It was, however, 3+ paragraphs so there was more room to do something that enraged the "gods".

For me it happened when I was using multiple quotes. Or so I thought. It could easily have been merely multiple paragraphs, as you say Brian. The gods are beyond our understanding, but we try.

I'm getting problems on the David Hurwitz thread--like I had had before.  I saw that there was a new posting there, clicked on it, and nothing there.  And at the top of the page it had options to "Go Down" to Page X or "Go Up" to Page X.  On the righthand side (opposite them) were options to mark read, etc.
