Quote from: Philo on March 27, 2026, 10:49:40 AMPerhaps it is the contrarian in me, but I loved DA2 more than DAO. For me, I loved that Dynasty Warriors wave combat, and Merrill is simply one of my favorite characters ever, as I love how her naivete affects everyone around her, especially Fenris, lol.

The only character I really loved from DAO was Velanna followed by Shale, but I did love the Dwarven environment - I found that very impressive, but, in the end, I'm a character-driven guy. :)

Edit: I also loved Ser Cauthrien - I always use her sword as my endgame weapon. 8)
Oh, I really enjoyed DA:2.  I loved the change of pace where you're basically playing the story that Varric wrote.  There were some choices....I think could have been changed.  Like environments could have been more varied.

the biggest issue I have is the ending if you sided with the mages that Orsino decided to resort to use the Blood Magic spell--just too add another boss.  If you sided with the Templars, it makes sense because they are desperate.  But if you sided with the mages...it seems like resorting to blood magic to create a new boss fight is counter to previous parts of the story where Orsino hated the magic.

Also disliked how easily it was to accidentally romance Anders.

Yeah, you are correct that turn made no sense, and Andres, in general, was annoying (sort of reminded me of Kaiden in Mass Effect or Carth in KOTOR).

It was a cool boss fight though. 8)

DAI is a go!

Way easier to setup than I was led to believe - it required like a few clicks.

Already loving the game, especially Cassandra. :)

I've played DA:I a couple of times, or is it three times? I like the dual-dagger rogue assassin character class.

Unfortunately, when I play as that character, I can't have my fav party member:

Quote from: DavidW on March 13, 2026, 07:48:46 PMMy Sudoku obsession never ended, and I've started up a club at the school. I've acquired a lot of tricks with variants since that is all I play these days. And maybe I can teach them.
Oh, that's neat!  I've played Sudoku off and on...sometimes do well, but have struggled in the advanced versions...can take a lot of time at my end.  Would love to hear your tricks.  :)

I like playing the NYT crosswords (harder when one gets older and doesn't always keep up with all of the latest movies and books--I now understand what my mother went through and her asking me questions!).

I also like some of their other games too.

Similar reason why I rarely go with Archery Rogue build. More difficult to bring Varric.

I think after Horizon: Forbidden West, it'll be another DA:I run.

I am also trying to avoid buying a PS5 Pro before the price increase.

Just got to Skyhold in DA: I.

I've never felt more epic, lol.

Do you know this course? https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzg42yqvfiLKESOIrp-NlQ-lgvtuwO5JE

I did the whole thing a couple of years ago and was quite proficient for a while... unfortunately I have time for my job and little else these days. But he's a good teacher - I never realized before how deep the subject was.

Been playing the game for about an hour a day (normally, in 3 X 20 minute segments), and I have not had this much fun with a videogame in a long time.

My primary crew has been Cassandra, Varric, and Dorian, but I'm thinking of switching out Blackwall with Cassandra. I sort of wish I could simply have a bruiser crew, but the game demands that you have a well-rounded crew if you want to get access to all of the areas of the game, and I am a relative completionist, at least when it comes to areas to explore, not so much collecting all of a particular item.

I'm also very excited to eventually play Veilguard, but who knows how many years away that is, lol. 8)

Quote from: Pohjolas Daughter on August 26, 2022, 06:26:57 AMI hadn't heard of byrdle before you posted it.  I did give it a go yesterday and managed to solve it in 6; however, that was probably mostly due to me coming up with a system to solve wordle...that and some dumb luck! lol  :)

PD
Yesterday I managed to match my prior winning streak, and today I notched one up: 112. I feel sure I have at least one friend with a longer streak, but I'm cool with that.

Hello,

I tried today's and figured out the first three letters, but can't past that.  :(

It's a logic puzzle. Work out which square is a criminal and which isn't through clue. Each time you correctly identify a square, you get a new clue.

The site has tutorials and instructions so you can see how it works.
