Thanks. I did a search on Amazon and I did find it was available for a time on CD, but it's long been gone now. There's another recording of this opera on the New World label I believe (?). Unless someone like Gil Rose with his Boston Modern Orchestra Project records it, I doubt we'll ever see another recording of it.

It's still available from the Met Opera Shop, by itself, and in a box set of broadcasts from the first season at Lincoln Center. The boxed set is also available from Amazon. The Antony and Cleopatra broadcast turns up on the Met's Sirius/XM weekly schedule from time to time, I heard it there just last Wednesday.

Yes, Leotyne Price had a marvelous voice. I will be listening to her performance (w/ Leinsdorf at the helm) of Puccini's Madama Butterfly soon.

I finally get round to the last opera in Der Ring. Is it just that Götterdämmerung is the most conventional of the four (you know with choruses and ensembles) that makes me like it the most of the tetralogy?

Anyway, I don't care what anyone says, Karajan's recording is fantastic, orchestrally superb and I think Dernesch is wonderful.

An amazing performance of an opera I don't usually have much time for. Callas, Bernstein and Valletti are quite a team.

I do enjoy Die Meistersinger, but it's so long!. It's taken me three days to listen to it - an act at a time. I've listened to the final act (the longest) today and I found it incredibly moving, as I usually do. This Kubelik recording is really superb.

I have a recording of it.  I think that Neil Shicoff did an amazing job.  I'd have to double-check who also was on it.  I love his recording of "Rachel..." I did find this on youtube: 

I remember being floored by the story (libretto) back when I first heard it.

I'm still on the look out for Kubelik's recording of Parsifal from this label. Difficult to find! Parsifal is my favorite Wagner opera.

Berlioz's rarely performed opera, based on Much Ado About Nothing. There is some wonderful music here, and it's well sung, with spoken dialogue, thankfully, by the singers, though only two of the cast are actually French.
