Thanks for the reminder about Penny Candy* and the Rod Serling comment!

I recall writing stories in grade school and found myself wondering how and why they always turned out to be rather short.

Now it seems I have no trouble writing things 400-500 pages or more!   ;D  :o

When I was composing my cantata Exaudi me, the original concept included a 9-voice fugue lasting nearly 100 bars, which would have lengthened the work to nearly an hour, and would have no doubt exhausted the performers.  So, I removed the fugue, brought the work in right under 30 minutes, and I think it was the correct thing to do.  😇

Partly congruent with my own experience. Even where we differ, though, good insights.

In my latter years of High School a friend drew me in to a kind of coffeehouse fellowship at his Episcopal parish. The Sign of the Fish was led by John & Jacquie Levy. On learning of Jacquie's passing I wrote a small memorial piece. Carson Cooman recently posted a performance:

I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your friend.  I'll have to listen to your ichthus.

I visited your work again: I noticed this time the name of the manufacturer!  A possible Christmas gift for the grand-children!  😇

And I had PT with Mike, after which we took Mom to a celebratory lunch. And now I'm up from my post-therapy nap.

Excellent news. I am sure this is a huge relief!

Glad that you and MIL are doing better.  Trying to fix a late dinner here.

Viz. the Opus 203, I got a most gracious msg from Aaron today: With a great sense of humility I am finally writing. I returned from Oregon a few days ago and have been playing catch up and I stumbled upon the mess of emails that I had not responded to.

I've printed out the work and will spend some time with it after this weekend's concerts (Dorchester and Seaport).

I LOVE the title, already have a couple of questions with the media, and will find a way to perform it soon, hopefully this summer.

Talk soon and again apologies on letting this slip through the cracks.

Aaron
I've assured Aaron that no apology is needed, he has been so busy with preparing, recording, releasing and promoting a new album, Guitar America 250: Revolutionaries and Rockstars
