Obama is set to announce his VP, perhaps today.  Any idea who it will be.  My money is on the long shot, Dick Cheney.

Can he find anyone who is as far to the left as he is?

Don

Biden or Clinton.  Any of the other often-mentioned choices will get Obama nowhere.

Any of a number of duplicitous twits with more ambition than integrity.  Biden fits.  How about Pelosi?

Anyone who is good with Foreign Policy.  Please!

Kansas governer Kathleen Sebelius has been mentioned.  A democrat that can win in Kansas is impressive.

  How about Pelosi?
Why? So she can show us how to appease and genuflect to the Islamic-terrorists?

It's John McCain.

Oh, you meant: for vice president.  :-X

The candidates should choose Joe Biden and Christine Todd Whitman, but they will probably choose Chet Edwards and Mitt Romney.

I think it is stupid, colossally stupid, of Barack Obama to start calling various politicians to tell them "they aren't finalists" for the job. From CNN, "Sen. Barack Obama called some people on his shortlist for the vice presidential slot Thursday night to tell them he had not selected them as a running mate, a highly placed Democratic Party source said." Meanwhile, people like Chet Edwards have been told they "are finalists." How silly - he makes it sound like American Idol or Dancing with the Stars.

"Hillary Rodham Clinton ... you're in the bottom two. Will you be eliminated from the VP race? We'll find out ... after the break!!"

Incidentally, Hillary wasn't vetted for the VP job by the Obama campaign.

I've been very disappointed with her.  She can't get anything done, but she does have a big mouth.

Her Tapioca is to die for.

Now, there is that nice Mr Putin and he is doing ever so well at being a deputy, terribly effective. He keeps himself in trim, and is a bit of a hawk and knows all sorts of foreign policy stuff. Never out of the Kremlin Incident Room I gather. A real asset to the ticket. Perhaps he should be asked.

Stephen Colbert. That would be fun. Imagine that. A "black" President and a "French" Vice President. That would be too hard for some to digest. Texas would finally secede and that in itself would solve a lot of problems.

Putin's a Republican (a neo-con).  Shows how much you limeys know about American politics!

You are drawing conclusions. I am not English, I am a Scot.

Well, Scotland is an English colony, and you guys don't even have your own language anymore, so I think scarpia may be forgiven for not being able to tell the difference.

Sorry, low marks for M on that one, not a shaft of wit, but it rhymes. The Rev. Spooner might have put it less delicately, but more truthfully.

Anyway, Obama has somewhat surprisingly ignored my advice. He has gone for the old guy with two failed attempts at being Prezzi behind him. I am sure it has been carefully calculated, but it hardly fits with all the rhetoric of; out with the old guard of the Washington machine and in with the New Men and Women.

How will USers feel about the possibility of this guy stepping up to the top job?
