Nice, but it doesn't work. I can only play them on the computer. I can't burn them on thisc. Is there a special way to do that?

Shouldn't be no problem whatsoever, just drag-and-drop the files on Burrrn.

BTW today's offer, Jansons' Beethoven 2nd looks like the same one which was previously commercialy issued on RCO Live.

Do you mean that you can only play it within your browser, and not download it to your hard-drive? I faced that problem from within Firefox. But with Opera, I was able to download the file and save it on disk.

I do as I'm told on the site: right click and 'save as'. It does go down on the hard drive, but in the form of a 4 second file which is not recognized by any program (Burrn, windows Media Player, Winrar Archiver). I get messages that it contains "an extension not recognized" by the program.  ???

I had no problem whatsoever downloading both the mp3 files and the pdf "booklets" using Internet Explorer.

8shPYhvb.htm.part

I have strictly no idea how to modify them.

Gustav

I'll probably download all of them, and upload them all onto Mediafire. Or, some the members of the group can do that for me.

I have sometimes downloaded a file only to find that it has been "mysteriously" converted to a html one.

And with regards to the Radio 4 website, when I click on Save Link As... (in Firefox), a 5 KB MP3 is saved. I don't think I have ever seen a .part extension before.  :-\

I dunno why it is so difficult for everybody, i just clicked on the link. "download", and save as.

Cyber mysteries abound. When I save the booklet file I get it on the hard disc, can open and priint it as well. But no luck with the sound file. As I mentioned I can "open" the file and it plays all right. But that's not what I want to do with them :'(

I only got the short file the first time, but then I simply cright-clicked on "download" and "save target" and it worked. The whole file is 66.1MB. On the page where you have the download button and the booklet, you have to click on the button, not right-click and save target. On the next page, where you only have the download link to the sound file, you have to right-click and save target.

Thanks, I did that and it partially worked. There seems to be somthing strange going on. The whole Beethoven second seems to be downloaded (32:37 on the Burrn indicator), but the same treatment yields only 18:46 with the Schubert (first movement only??) and 9:51 in the Mendelssohn (again, probably only the first movement).

I did have similar problems with the Beethoven and Mendelssohn files. At first, they downloaded only partially and in random lengths, so I deleted the files and tried again. It took about 3-4 attempts each, then I got the complete files.
