Hello everyone, it's nice to see all the CM fans here!!

I started listening to CM in earnest a little over 2 years ago. I enjoy Schubert, Mahler, and Bach among others. Right now I'm listening to early Scriabin and getting ready to start listening to 'late Scriabin'.

Looking forward to chatting and learning!

Subotnick

Welcome! Scriabin's Piano Sonatas are favourites of mine.

haydnguy

Thanks Subotnick! I took to them right away and have had a hard time turning them off!!!  ;D

Hello Haydnguy:D

Warm welcome to the GMG Forum - checkout the Composer Index - great listing of various threads on composers by country of origin - plenty of recording recommendations for those who may interest you.

That's exactly what we all come here for. Welcome, Haydnguy!  :)
... music is not only an 'entertainment', nor a mere luxury, but a necessity of the spiritual if not of the physical life, an opening of those magic casements through which we can catch a glimpse of that country where ultimate reality will be found.    RVW, 1948

Thank you Hollywood and Kuhlau!

Yes this is the same "haydnguy", Kuhlau. Could there be two???   ;D

And another welcome, haydnguy.  Haydn fan here, also, as well as Scriabin.  Just this weekend I was listening to Sinopoli's recording of the Symphony No. 3, Le divin poème, with the New York Philharmonic.  Quite something!
