Thanks. and yes it is in Istanbul. Too bad I can't play any classical there, we mostly play classic American Rock.

This is the school where I currently work (I use the word 'currently' advisedly as, due to a merger with another school, we all have to re-apply for our own jobs, so I may not be there for much longer). My office overlooks the sea and you get some wonderful sunsets. The school resembles a cross between Colditz Castle, Castle Dracula and a 19th Century lunatic asylum)

I guess by law they have to re-advertise the jobs, but that's not good to hear. I hope it pans out all right for you.

the college pool where I seem to be spending most of days at the moment (but unfortunately not in it)

For a full look here is the College website. The campus is spread out over about 20 hectares so there isn't a single photo of the place.

I don't see any Malaysians in that photo...so no, Allan can't possibly be in it.

toledobass

There are in fact no Malaysians in that picture, but I'm in it anyway.  In that first picture, I am the second bass player in on the right hand side....or if you start on the right hand side, I'm the bass player sitting in front of the 3rd column....

here is a better picture...I'm the bass player with black hair:

I thought I read that you're Malaysian somewhere. Maybe I got mixed up with some guy from RMCR.

This is the VRT building & tower. I work on the second floor - but the building is an incredible labyrinth.
Looks better on a photograph ...designed in the mid 1960-ies, built ca 1972-74. Part of it has been extensively renovated...now there's no more money. It houses both VRT and RTBf : Belgian National Broadcasting is bi-lingual ( Flemish/French).

Before 1970 Radio & TV were housed in a splendid Art Deco building on Flagey square. After many years of troubles, quarrels and problems, Flagey building has been renovated and transformed in a cultural centre. It houses famous Studio 4 and the  Brussels' Philharmonic ( =former radio orchestra) . It is a great place. Soon Ars Musica starts : almost three weeks of contemporary music. Boulez wrote a short birthday piece for Henri Pousseur who turns 80. ( more details later)

Ars Musica website :http://www.arsmusica.be/cms/festival_en.php

Welcome to the 20th anniversary edition of Ars Musica, the spring rendezvous for contemporary music! This edition includes some fifty concerts with many recent works, allowing young and sometimes very young composers and performers to emerge. It also includes three portraits of well-known figures: exceptional and highly contrasted personalities whom we have gathered in Beyond : « Par-Delà ». Ligeti, Dufourt, Pousseur: read on to find out more.

Now firmly established at Flagey, Ars Musica is reactivating the idea of a Maison du Festival where festival-goers may enjoy the company of other arts and contemporary music lovers. Just a stone's throw away from the beloved steamship, the Marni welcomes the night owls for a series of night time Cafés musicaux – after-hours jazz and experimental music concerts. And the cook is waiting for us! From 19 March, the new structure of Ars Musica will get under way. The festival is migrating and will send its satellites throughout Belgium: as a singular festival, Ars Musica will now be multiple, with 'Ars Musica Antwerpen', 'Ars Musica Liège', 'Ars Musica Brugge' and 'Ars Musica Mons'.
