Thanks Dave! :) I did also get the Immerseel/ Octophorus before and had a similar impression - dissapointing, then got the Levin/ AAM Chamber Ensemble as well, and I do enjoy that recording. Though I wouldn't rule out it being surpassed eventually but haven't come accross the ideal recording yet! And for me it has to be HIP. 8)

Just bought my very first recording by Pierre Fournier - JS Bach Cello Suites.  The CD set is great ...

Was just thrown through my window with a brick attached to them addressed NY, NY.  Thanks, George!: ;D

and this gem:

There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

Good thing I chose priority mail. If I hadn't, I'd hate to think how the poor things would have got you. ;D

I hope that you are able to give Scriabin a fair shake, I think he was a tremendous composer. That CD set traces the evolution of his ever changing style and the interpretations are top shelf, IMO.

Veit Bach-a baker who found his greatest pleasure in a little cittern which he took with him even into the mill and played while the grinding was going on. In this way he had a chance to have the rhythm drilled into him. And this was the beginning of a musical inclination in his descendants. JS Bach

I bought one of those yesterday too.

It must have flown under my radar when it was first released; this looks like an excellent introduction to Latin American baroque. Very appetizing samples, too.

Now we know [how] his cat [seen below relaxing, after a heavy haul] always brings his CDs in. ;D

...and coughs them up in a fur-ball.

Big load today, too, but justified, seeing that I'm cat sitting her for the weekend.

Congrats!  :D  Luckily the seller, Blowitoutahere, has promised to send me a new copy.

On another note, I never thought I'd see another cat that lies on its back like ours does. It's quite hilarious to watch them act like that...

The Hunt-Lieberson Ariodante ...

... is indeed stunning. She simply is Ariodante.

Good news for you, too, in a way. Since my copy came from the same seller, we now know that not all editions that Blowitoutahere had in stock are beset with the same error.

My cat used to lie on the couch with his tummy up and the paws to the side. Sometimes he looked like he was going to make "an offer you can't refuse..." ...to snorgle his fuzzy tummy!

This one has another habit that's more than odd. Sitting on the carpet, she will drag herself across with just her front paws; like a paraplegic cat might.  :o I reckon she is in fact just scratching her rear on the carpet, which makes me quite irate. If she wasn't the bearer of CDs, I'd kick her right out whence she came. Perhaps I'll catch it on video some time.

After hearing MacDowell's PC #2 on the radio, I wanted a recording.  Also the sound on the Liszt PCs really bugs me.  Two birds, one stone. 8)
