Ok, Corey, you're probably right. I was just annoyed with it. I must confess I rather want to know then guessing about it.

EDIT:
At first it seems quite obvious Tapkaara is gay, otherwise you don't start such topic. But when many other males also start posting about their sexiest (male) composers, I get doubts. It can't be the case all these are gay ::)  ;D.

Regarding the enthusiasm you show by posting the names of some composers, I assume you're gay or bisexual (regarding the enthusiasm you show by posting the name of some females also). I don't need to know, but wonder why you don't clarify spontaneously.

Well, if you must know, yes, I am gay.

I already thought this (see previous edited post). Well maybe you mislead some guys here. Don't mind about it, it's rather a good thing imo, then bad ;D.

Well, Tapkaara, we may have become closer friends now :).

I don't think this is necessarily a "gay" topic; I see it more as a fun topic that anyone can participate in and maybe even joke a round a little. If heterosexual women can comment on how hot another woman is, what's wrong with heterosexual males admitting that they can see the good looks in another male?

And if you do happen to be gay, well, we want everyone's commentary, don't we? ;)

Ok, two favourites of mine:

Donatoni (left), Rossini (right).

But there's no sexual attraction on looks at all, the pictures demonstrate, so I can't post about this. For me males are rather attractive for their personality, to learn from them (pederasty) or to admire them. But this is very rare.

Because it's very boring. That women do this, is for sure because they're jealous and don't hide it (feeling less jealous).

Erm...does "pederasty" mean the same thing from where you are from?

I have little experience with pederasty but honestly think it should be more embedded in our culture. Our culture would be more virile. Men would be more masculine and learn more from other men (the young from older ones).

If you see how badly developed some men are, how false masculine they are, it seems even that all men in our culture are not men enough for pederasty.

Ehhh... well, I was gonna add that Brahms and Scriabin were two cool-looking dudes, and both Alma Mahler and Clara Schumann are kinda hot in their pics. My opinion, at least.
This thread is kinda scaring me, though...

anyways, I almost convinced someone once to grow a Scriabin-ish moustache, but I haven't seen him for months. I was reminded of that today...

Have you practiced pederasty?

Although, by her own admission, not as good as her husband.

Sure, but she's still a composer.

I suppose this really belongs in The Diner, in any case.

Clara Schumann.

No contest.

Odd... Why do I all of a sudden have a desire to run out and purchase an album of Clara Schumann's music...?  ???  ;)

Diletante

Looking through pictures of many composers, trying to find good-looking men, I've come to realize that an incredible amount of them were just ugly. An "ugliest composers" thread would be a hoot. I mean, look at this:

(Aaron Copland)

--------

Anyway, I found this photo of Francis Poulenc, looking very Johnny Depp-ish:

And this one. He looks like some movie actor. Is this really Poulenc? He looks so different than in his other photos!

And this thread can't be complete without a photo of Bartók's piercing stare.

Orgullosamente diletante.

Aaron Copland certainly, um, well, um...I don't want to be mean, but...yeah...not the hottest.

Pretty people have a life. Ugly people compose, write books, and if they can't even do that, fill the internett with more or less interesting stuff and polls.

A tall, non-balding, pretty Schubert would be something entirely different from what he ended up as. Bad for him, good for us.
